The random world

The Sky above my house about 2 weeks ago. It was so beautiful...this picture... I don't think does it justice.
Sometimes the simple things about this earth are the best to see. A swollen river, a group of rocks, the clouds, sunny rain shower, a tree moving in the wind.....you know random things that make you feel good about the world around you. What can I do to protect this world of random so my son can see them?

That blanket

Ever work on something... but change your mind or lose interest in it??? Well not with this blanket... I loved the colors so much I just couldn't wait to see the finished project. Then I wanted to dress it up.... being that it's for my son I didn't want to go all fancy border... so I did motifs instead.... leaf ones... that I found on Lionbrand's website. Here is a picture of the blanket... really the close up of the leaves! It turns out this is a perfect naptime/playtime blanket cause it's too big really for a stroller blanket... so you know what that means LOL. Enjoy the weekend!

I made cake

So I wanted to start and finish a blanket this weekend. And I almost did it... but then today I had to go out for more yarn... and I ended up shopping and then made a cake :)

Don't get all excited... it's a simple yellow cake mix with just a touch of my secret spices!!! Then cool whip and sugar/cinnamon strawberries on top!

I wanted to finish this blanket for Amir. I'm calling it "Fall Leaf." It's about 24ins wide and 38ins long.... I'm going to 48ins by 38ins.... here is a sneak peak. But I did the cake instead...I'm not too upset cause it's 72 degrees in Jersey this weekend... so he doesn't really need it. I really want it for when we go apple and pumpkin picking next weekend.

How many projects at once?

I think I'm working on at least 4 projects! 2 for my son, 1 for my bedroom, and 1 for sale! The sale one is a shell pattern! So it's a lot of crocheting and not a lot of progress. But I should be done by next weekend.

The bedroom (picture) one is a long long progress.... but it's a quicker pattern and I'm using a "N" size needle.... holding together 1 strand of WW and 1 strand of Homespun. I'm using about 6 different WW colors.... Redheart. It's about 5 feet long so far and 50 in wide... but i still have the edging to do!!!

A borrowed blog pattern!!!!

Something I did...I peeped it on another blog....

Here's the blog: Gherkin's Bucket: Crochet Swiffer "Shrug" thanks Krysten L.

I did it in about 1 hour.... I wanted to use up my scrap cotton that I had laying around. I have yet to use it.... cleaning days are Thursdays.

The pattern is above in Krysten's blog. Go and try it... I will soon write out some of my own patterns to share with you all. In the mean time try this one out!

Finishing up

Ok I am about to finish another blanket, and I have to say this one is really pretty. The yarn is wonderful.... and I think the receiver will love it. It's for my Mate's friend Patty's daughter. I'll have to update later with a nice picture. The day just started and I really have a lot to do, so I'll have to end this post here.

My Brother

My brother is away overseas again. I think about him everyday. I did get to email him 2 days ago, he was safe a sound at that point. I also spoke to my sister(in law). It's a tough time for us all... and I pray that the other men and women that are overseas are safe!

1st time of everyone

Hello out there!

This is my first post on this new blog I just set up. Well I have to say that I wish I had more than 2 hands!!! I'm excited about my little crocheting blanket business I have going, but MAN am I busy. Which I hope is a good thing. I'm working on 5 blankets at this time.... one is due this Sat. (and I only had one week to complete it). Amir is teething and it's not easy fitting in crocheting time... but I love to do it... so it's not that bad.

Well let me get back to work!!! If I'm typing my hands can't be crocheting!!! I hope to fill this blog with all the interesting things I've been doing.
